What’s in this Steam Next Fest Demo

Limited 4 Mission Set

The RIFTSTORM Next-fest Demo is limited to 4 missions that are designed to give players a taste of the early and late-game missions. Players are encouraged to complete the tutorial, get a taste of the average dungeon run, and then continue to Operation 1411 to gather loot, before attempting to complete Operation Marble Obelisk.

Two missions that give players a chance to complete small dungeons and gain early-game loot and increase their combat power.
Operation 1411 is a special type of operation that pushes our mission-engine to new possibilities. This hybrid tower-defense-meets-extraction mode features a single open map and two objectives players must defend. The longer players defend these objectives, the more loot they can earn, and when the danger is too great, players will have scattered opportunities to extract from the field with their loot.
Operation Marble Obelisk features a Hunt operation that pits players against a large force of mythic entities and unique mechanics to overcome. This is a very challenging mission that will require the right mix of weavers, weapons, and strategy to complete.
In the full game, RIFTSTORM will feature variants additional mission types, challenge modes, and environments that will be procedurally generated and tiered to multiple Threat Levels and Mission Arcs.

Limited 4 Weaver Set

Only four Weavers will be playable in this demo. Additionally, to give players a quicker start into the game, all weavers will already be level 30 with all necessary skills unlocked. At launch, RIFTSTORM will feature 8 Weavers with additional Weavers to be added later.

Rook - a jack-of-all-trades character will feature in the tutorial and service as an easy all-rounder for players to into the game.
Starling - a combat focused character with a mix of offensive and support abilities is a good choice for players who looking to enjoy a more run-and-gun gameplay style.
Hertz - a brawler type character with high resilience is designed for players who want to jump into the thick of battle - literally.
Botsy - a tech-focused support character with deployable turrets that be augmented to empower units

Limited Armory & Periapts

Designed for end-game refinement, the RIFTSTORM demo will include two sets of Periapts already unlocked for each Weaver. Periapts will allow players to chance the shape of their Weaver’s skills. In the full game, Periapts can be further refined and altered using Periapt Chips.

Established in 1954 to prevent conflict between rival occult factions, the Mythic Protocol mandates information sharing and coordinated responses to otherworldly threats. They tirelessly research mythics, secret them away from the public, and meticulously document the knowledge they gather, creating a vital database for those combating the forces behind the Rifts.

The world where the Mythic Protocol exists is very much like our own. This “real-world+1” scenario presents players with a familiar but unfamiliar world to explore, defend, and loot. It is a world where the mythic truth hides underneath the veneer of history and fact - in this world, our world, monsters, myths, and legends exist and the only force that stands humanity and the threats of the cosmos fall under the purvey of the Mythic Protocol.
